Since its founding the IDS has received financial support, endorsement and volunteer help from a number of institutions and individuals. The society has also cooperated with many cultural institutions and organizations. IDS’s programs and events have been sponsored by leading Czech politicians and public personalities, including Karel Schwarzenberg, Alexandr Vondra, Josef Jařab, Pavel Bém, Roman Onderka a Josef Suk (see Endorsements). One of the most active supporters and sponsors is the non-profit society Musica proxima.
IDS has been receiving grants from several Czech ministries, particularly from the Ministry of Culture and Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
IDS’s projects have been supported by many cities, particularly the cities of Prague, Brno, Olomouc, Plzeň, Písek, Ostrava and dozens of smaller cities in almost all regions of the Czech Republic.
Also very important has been the financial and material support from regional governments, particularly from the regions Vysočina, South Moravia, Olomouc, Central Bohemia and Plzeň.
IDS’s projects have been supported by the embassies of the United States of America, Canada, France and Sweden, by the American Chamber of Commerce, by Nadace život umělce, A. Dvořák Foundation, Slovak Music Fund and others.
Foremost among commercial sponsors have been the firms Peugeot, Schneider Electric, Metrostav, Philip Morris, and C. Bechstein Europe s.r.o., and the financial institutions Modrá Pyramida and KB Pojišťovna.
